In 2001, Prince Andrew was said to be the then 17-year-old …
Actually, Prince Andrew (62) reached an out-of-court agreement with Virginia Giuffre (39) last year. She accuses him of sexually abusing her when she was a minor. She filed a civil suit in the US, later made a deal with him. Andrew is said to have paid her around 15 million francs. The Duke of York apparently wants to take action against this agreement, as “The Sun” reports.
According to the British newspaper, Andrew has amassed over 11 million Swiss francs so he can contest the deal. The amount is made up of the millions he inherited from his mother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), and the proceeds from the sale of his Swiss chalet. He wanted to save his reputation and get an apology from her.
King Charles is said to approve of Andrew’s plan
A palace insider said: “Andrew has always said he’s innocent. He now wants to prove that in a US court. He was pressured to settle the case so as not to overshadow the platinum anniversary and has paid a heavy personal and professional price for it.”
His brother, King Charles III. (74), should be happy about Andrew’s offensive. “As head of state, he can’t publicly endorse him, but Andrew is still his brother and he wants what’s best for him,” the source continued.
Andrew gets support from Ghislaine Maxwell (61). The ex-girlfriend of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) backs Andrew’s claim that he even knows Giuffre. She called a photo showing the prince entwined with the very young woman a fake. The picture is said to have been taken in Ghislaine Maxwell’s apartment – she is grinning in the background. “I have no recollection of the two ever meeting. And I don’t think the picture is real. Not for a second,” she said on the Talk TV show. She also doesn’t remember Giuffre ever being in her apartment.
Lawyers are outraged by Prince Andrew’s plans
According to “Mirror”, this message is met with incomprehension in the USA. Lisa Bloom, the lawyer for several Epstein victims, railed: “Leave her alone. Stick to your deal. Man up.” Another lawyer for Epstein victim Spencer Kuvin says: “It’s unbelievable. His chances of overturning a negotiated and agreed settlement are about as likely as Epstein’s coming back to life.” In order for Andrew to get through with his plan, he needs proof that there was a mistake, accident, fraud or coercion in the arrangement. The case of Prince Andrew
Plaintiff Virginia Giuffre (38) accused Prince Andrew (62) in a civil case in the United States of having repeatedly sexually abused her as a minor. She stated that she was a victim of an abuse ring set up by US multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) and his ex-partner Ghislaine Maxwell (60) during this time.
Maxwell had previously been found guilty of several counts in a US criminal case and later sentenced to 20 years in prison. Epstein took his own life while in custody in 2019. Andrew categorically denied all allegations, in February 2022 he had reached an out-of-court agreement with Giuffre. He is said to have paid her the equivalent of 15 million francs, including an amount to her charitable foundation for victims of abuse.
Prince Andrew and Virigina Giuffre have now settled out of court.
