It’s a million dollar business! In his new book “Reserve” (original title: “Spare”), Prince Harry (38) unpacks about the royal family. The allegations against his family have been making headlines for days – and the renegade royal and his wife Meghan (41) have managed to become financially independent.
The couple has earned over 150 million francs with their deals. The largest amount comes from Cooperation with Netflix: They should receive 93 million francs from the streaming giant alone. For this they unpacked at the end of last year in “Harry & Meghan”, a six-part documentary. Other projects such as “Live to Lead”, a documentary that portrays inspiring personalities, are already in the starting blocks. Meghan’s children’s series “Pearl”, on the other hand, was canceled by Netflix last year for reasons of economy.
Megan’s has been online for a long time Podcast «Archetypes». Spotify costs a lot: the royal couple should earn 23 million francs with it.
For the one peppered with allegations against his family Biography «Reserve» Prince Harry is estimated to receive around 37 million francs. There is also income from the four major TV interviews of the royal.
Prince Harry also earns quick money as a speakers. Big companies keep inviting him to give speeches – and they dig deep into their pockets for it. For a single performance, Harry collects up to one million Swiss francs. He has often hidden references to his family in his speeches.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan desperately need the income: after their withdrawal from the British royal family and the associated financial independence, they have to support their lives themselves. The security costs alone are in the millions. They also had to reimburse the royal family for the conversion work on their British home, Frogmore Cottage, worth around three million francs. In addition, the two do a lot of voluntary work – such as Harry’s commitment to the Invictus Games. According to the book, the Duke of Sussex has already donated 1.4 million Swiss francs to the organization he co-founded, Sentebale, which supports children suffering from AIDS and AIDS orphans in southern Africa.
In addition to the financial interest, the royal couple’s revelations also have another reason: they want to tell the world their part of the story. For years they have felt misrepresented – among other things, because royals like the king’s wife Camilla (75) have made specific information about Harry and Meghan public.
