Prince Harry can’t imagine being a senior member of the royal family again.
Prince Harry’s (38) long-awaited memoirs will be released next week. King Charles III’s son (74) and Princess Diana (1961-1997) will reflect his life and probably also reveal some spicy details about life in the Royal Family. In an interview that will be broadcast on Sunday, he confirms that he is done with this old life at the royal court.
In conversation with moderator Anderson Cooper (55), Prince Harry replies to the question of whether he once again sees himself as a high-ranking member of the royal family, with a clear “no” – this can be seen in a trailer that was broadcast on the conversation next Sunday on the US broadcaster CBS.
Aggressive in the US trailer, forgiving in the UK preview
Another trailer had previously appeared. In it, Prince Harry went to court with the British royal family. Accordingly, journalists were secretly fed negative information about him and his wife Meghan (41), but the couple’s requests for replies to press articles were always rejected by the royal family. That was the reason he decided to go public himself, Harry said. He added: “There comes a point when silence becomes treason.”
The quotes contrast with statements that the British broadcaster ITV published in excerpts from its own interview on Monday. In it, Harry said he wanted his father and brother back. The ITV interview is also scheduled to air next Sunday.
Content of memoirs is kept secret for a long time
The content of the memoirs entitled “Reserve” (original title: “Spare”) is kept under wraps. On Wednesday, the “Times” even compared the Harry Potter series by bestselling author Joanne K. Rowling (57), in which millions of pounds were invested to avoid leaks. The newspaper quoted publishing industry sources as saying deliveries to bookstores will be delayed until the last minute.

However, those few who already know Harry’s autobiographical book have high expectations. “I think the book will be worse for her than the royal family expects,” an unnamed insider told The Times. In particular, Harry hands out his brother Prince William (40), Princess Kate (40) also gets something. “I can’t see how Harry and William can reconcile after that,” the source said.
Dispute after Megxit
Harry and his wife Meghan had broken away from the inner circle of the royal family three years ago. Harry had particularly fallen out with his father, King Charles III, and his brother Prince William, who is now heir to the throne. Public statements and allegations had deepened the ditch. Most recently, Harry and Meghan poured fuel on the fire with a six-part Netflix docu-series in which they present their point of view. (SDA/imh)
