She delighted the “DSDS” jury: Angelica Pollarca from Rüti ZH.
The story of Angelica Pollarca (24) from Zurich gets under your skin: Before appearing at the “DSDS” casting, she tells of her difficult childhood. As a young girl, she successfully took part in various singing competitions and won money. Her papi took advantage of this shamelessly. “When he realized that he could earn money with me, he started working less,” she says.
If she was not successful in the competitions, there were severe consequences. “If I didn’t take first place, I didn’t get dinner,” says Pollarca. “My childhood was taken from me.”
One day she lost her love for music because of this, which only came back years later. Now she dares to take the step to a singing competition again. Victory is not their goal. Something completely different counts for the child educator: “If Dieter didn’t like me, it would bother me.”
Bohlen makes her nervous
Because of Bohlen, she was pretty nervous when she appeared. With a wink, she said to the head of the jury: “Don’t look at me!” When the music started, her nervousness vanished. Pollarca proved she still has the talent to wow judges.

Pietro Lombardi (30) praised: “You can sing very well. I was very surprised. I like that!” Even more important for the young woman: Dieter Bohlen’s joy about her singing was written on her face. He said: “Sometimes there are such big women here and then a squeaky voice comes out – and you little woman comes out with such a big voice. You hit the notes too. I’d like to try that with you.”
For Angelica Pollarca, the performance was a double success: she secured a place in the recall and praise from her idol Dieter Bohlen.
Another Swiss in the recall
Tatjana Ivanovic (19) from Pfäffikon SZ also got the coveted ticket for the recall. First she made the eyes of the jury widen with a short gymnastics interlude, then she followed it up with a soulful vocal interlude. The judgment of Katja Krasavice (26): “Right, really good!” Pietro Lombardi followed suit. “That was incredible. You just fit in here really well for me.” (bnr)
