Spanish influencer Elena Huelva battled cancer for years. At the age of 20, she has now lost the fight. Her family announced her death on Instagram: “Since this morning Elena has been dancing and looking down on you from her star. Thank you for everything.”
Huelva had had the rare Ewing’s sarcoma since he was a teenager. This is a malignant tumor, usually in the bones. This type of cancer is mostly diagnosed in children and adolescents.

On Instagram, the influencer shared her medical history with over 980,000 subscribers. She wanted to give those affected courage and draw attention to the disease. Despite the cancer, the influencer always stayed positive and shone in many pictures. She also showed the hard times, for example when she had to sit in a wheelchair. Last October she even made it into the Spanish “Elle” as a model.
Recently, Huelva’s health has been deteriorating. A few days ago, she shared a final picture of herself holding her family’s hands. She wrote: “They were very difficult days, they are getting more and more complicated.” The influencer seemed to have known that she was going to die soon. In a previous post, she emphasized: “No matter what happens, I know that my life was not meaningless because I fought and achieved what I set out to achieve: raise awareness of the disease. At the end of the day, it’s about living and making memories, and I will take with me many good memories with many wonderful people.” (bsn)
