On Monday evening, the Swiss Lukas Angst (39), who lives in Vienna, ventures into the German TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen” and presents his idea to the investors. His product: A squeezable titanium drinking bottle. “With our innovation, we’re making plastic drinking bottles look pretty old,” he says. The idea for his product came to him during a hike. “I was the only one in the group with a plastic bidon because I still had it from my active floorball days. I knew it tasted bad. But the whole issue of softeners and microplastics was new to me at the time.”
Angst did some research after the hike and found that there was no plastic-free sports water bottle. A glass bottle was also out of the question for him. He didn’t want to give up the lightness and comfort of squeezing.
Against mold growth and throwaway culture
His co-founder Bernd Deussen (52) adds: “Even top athletes use the cheapest plastic bottles. But they are the ones who know exactly what the problems with plastic are. Plastic affects the taste, tends to mold and thus also promotes a throwaway culture.»

Enough reasons for fear, who played in the highest Swiss floorball league for ten years, to invent his bottle of Keego. The name comes from the English “Keep Going” and is intended to motivate you to keep going.
Sustainability is important to the founders
The biggest challenge for the inventor: “Nobody believed that we could make titanium elastic.” But why this material? Titanium is durable, tasteless and odorless and has antibacterial and dirt-repellent properties. To make titanium elastic, they found a new combination of materials: Keego consists of several layers. On the inside, pure titanium protects against plastic and keeps the drink clean. On the outside, a durable plastic should ensure robustness and lightness.
The bottle is produced in Switzerland and Denmark. “Sustainability is important to us,” stresses Angst. The founders offer the investors 12 percent of their company shares for 380,000 euros. Will the lions strike at this idea? (paf)
