Week after week, the stars inspire the audience with their dances at “Let’s Dance”. The candidates train several hours a day to ensure that the appearance is perfect. But the cash register also rings properly, as “Bild” now writes.
Winner of the RTL show is Amira Pocher (29). According to the German newspaper, Oliver Pocher’s (44) wife collects around 160,000 euros for her performances. After that, wages drop sharply. Ex-athlete Mathias Mester (35) and moderator Janin Ullmann (40) each receive 70,000 euros. Behind them are sports presenter Riccardo Basile (30) with 50,000 euros and politician Caroline Bosbach (32) with 35,000 euros.
Fees used to be higher
Compared to the professional dancers who train with the stars, the fees are high. The best-known among the professionals should only earn between 20,000 and 40,000 euros per season. But the stars of the previous seasons were able to look forward to higher sums at the time. For example, Lilly Becker (45) received 200,000 euros in 2014 and only took fifth place at the time.
Pop singer Jürgen Milski (58), who also danced on the show in 2012, finds the high amounts justified. «Nowhere else on television do you have to hit as hard as a candidate as here. Everything hurts. That’s not hipsi hopsi. That’s hard work, where you’re proud of what you’ve got out of it in the end,” he explains. He trained for hours, flew to Mallorca for performances and continued training the next morning. He clarifies: “I don’t want to complain because it was fun. But after ‘Let’s Dance’ you don’t feel like you’ve been thrown the dough.” (bsn)
