New terrain for Vincent Gross (26)! The Swiss hit star can currently be seen in the program “Promi First Dates” on the streaming service RTL + and had the first blind date of his life in front of the cameras. «After a performance you come into the hotel and it’s quiet there. And sometimes I wish that silence would be filled with someone I love.” His candidate: business administration student Liv (27) from Vienna (AT).
His first impression on site was good. “She’s actually my type, looks sweet and pretty,” he enthused. She was also happy with her date: “He’s attractive and came across as very confident and very charming.” As a welcome, the man from Basel brought his home-brewed beer. To Liv’s delight: “I think it’s great when he’s a gentleman and treats me like a princess.”
“I had butterflies in my stomach when he sang.”
Liv didn’t know who Vincent Gross was. “She wasn’t biased, she had no idea who I was,” Gross said. “I thought that was cool.” After dinner there was even a serenade for the date – fittingly he sang “I give you my heart”. “Oh my god, that was so great. I’m overwhelmed and didn’t expect that you could sing so well,” Liv enthused afterwards. “I had butterflies in my stomach when he sang.”
Nevertheless: Even at the end of the show it was clear that it wasn’t right for her and that the tingling was missing. Even after the production, the two did not see each other again, as Gross reveals in an interview with Blick. “We didn’t exchange any numbers either,” said the musician. “I’m a creative mess and she’s very well planned and structured – the complete opposite of me,” explains Gross. He is now considering writing a new song entitled “Sorry – you’re not my type”. “We still had a really nice chat.”
Not averse to the new dating format
Despite the lack of success, the topic of the dating show is not over for him. “It was really fun. Before the production I was more nervous than ever. After all, the result could have changed my life. But I’m still single,” he says. Still, he seems to have tasted blood. There is no new dating show coming up. But: “Let’s see if there are other offers?”
