Anti-Oscars 2023
Tom Hanks nominated for three Golden Raspberries
At the Oscars, “Elvis” is one of the favorites in the race, but actor Tom Hanks has brought the film two nominations for the Golden Raspberry.
Hollywood star Tom Hanks was nominated for three Golden Raspberries.
As the organizers of the “Razzies” announced on Monday, Hanks, who plays the manager of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley in the biopic, has been nominated for worst supporting actor, among other things.
Nominated for appearances in “Elvis” and “Pinocchio”
Hank’s “and his latex-covered face” are also nominated in the Anti-Oscars category for “Worst Screen Couple”. In addition to his elaborate make-up, the organizers also emphasize his “ridiculous accent” in the role of Elvis manager.
Hanks, 66, was nominated for a third Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor for his performance as Master Geppetto in the live-action Disney remake of Pinocchio.
The worst film of the year is awarded the night before the Oscars
In addition to “Pinocchio”, the Marilyn Monroe biopic “Blonde”, the comedy “Good Mourning”, the fantasy film “The King’s Daughter” and the superhero film “Morbius” starring Jared Leto were nominated for the worst film of the year. Last year, Leto received the Golden Raspberry for Worst Supporting Actor in “House of Gucci”.
The Oscars will be presented in Hollywood on March 12th. The Golden Raspberries are traditionally awarded the night before the Oscars. However, the award winners almost never appear in person to pick up their abusive trophies. (AFP)
