How to call into the forest … SVP National Councilor Andreas Glarner (59) is experiencing on Twitter that the old sayings have a core of truth after all.
The SVP hardliner had actually aimed at his political opponent Jacqueline Badran (60, SP). The Zurich national councilor announced in February that she would be taking a break. Since then, things have been very quiet about the economic politician, who otherwise likes to provoke herself and is rarely at a loss for a sentence.
Badran is definitely missed
“Does anyone actually miss Jacqueline Badran?” Glarner tweeted yesterday. And let it be known: not himself. The social media forest just sees it differently than he does – and it echoed back accordingly.
Hardly anyone felt like gossip about Badran. On the contrary: Badran is even missed very much, is the basic tone. Instead, the Twitter mob prefers to make fun of Glarner in the almost 150 replies.
Badran fans aim for Glarner
“Obviously you miss her too,” someone writes to his address. Has he already sent her flowers and well wishes? Another thanks Glarner for linking the profile of the SP National Councilor – there was interesting content to read. “The only thing I miss here is your respect,” criticized a third person.
Another user replied: “You only miss members” – alluding to the fact that the SVP Aargau, whose president is Glarner, lost members during the Corona party, contrary to the national trend.
And another wrote: “Someone should actually invent a new unit of measurement. 1 Glarus. That would be the shortest distance between two embarrassing tweets.”
Badran had announced that he would be out until at least the summer session, which begins in June. Incidentally, she herself is not one who would otherwise shy away from gossip at Glarner’s address: in Corona times, she once got so upset about the Aargau SVP National Council that she “whore fucking Glarner!” cursed into a microphone.
