A corresponding application had been made to the supervisory authority, the federal prosecutor confirmed to Radio SRF on Tuesday.
“Switzerland at the weekend” reported on Saturday that Berset’s former head of communications, Peter Lauener, had repeatedly sent Ringier-Verlag confidential information on the Federal Council’s planned Covid measures.
According to the newspaper, it relied on emails and interrogation protocols that were available to the editors. Lauener was questioned by the federal special investigator, Peter Marti. Now the federal prosecutor wants to have clarified how this confidential information got to the public.
