“If we should fall back to 11.7 percent, as the polls predict, we would have confirmed that we belong to the first division of the parties,” said Glättli in an interview with the “Tribune de Genève” and “24 Heures” published on Friday. .
However, Glättli does not believe in the negative trend in opinion polls: “If you look at all cantonal elections since 2019, our party is the one that has won the most seats. These results are more meaningful than any survey.” The environment remains the number one concern for the Swiss, he adds, referring to the UBS barometer.
According to Glättli, the Greens still refuse to move into the Bundesrat at the expense of the SP. “This fundamental decision was made by our group. She confirmed him after Simonetta Sommaruga’s resignation.”
According to Glättli, statements by FDP or Mitte presidents that the Greens would have to attack a Social Democratic seat are a political maneuver. They are intended to distract attention from the fact that the FDP is overrepresented in the Bundesrat and, according to the magic formula, would have to give up a seat if the Greens were successful in the elections.
In the 2019 federal elections, the Greens came fourth in the National Council with 13.2 percent of the vote, behind the SVP (25.6 percent), the SP (16.8 percent) and the FDP (15.1 percent). (SDA)
