GPK deal with corona leaks
Now it’s serious for Berset
Should parliamentary oversight take a close look at the Corona leaks, even though criminal proceedings are already underway? Initial discussions in the business review committees of the National Council and the Council of States indicate that this is happening.

Federal President Alain Berset must prepare himself for unpleasant questions.
Now it is time. For the first time on Monday, the audit committees (GPK) of the National Council and the Council of States took on the corona leaks. “At the moment there is almost only this topic in federal Bern anyway,” reveals a GPK member.
The former department spokesman for Federal President Alain Berset (50), Peter Lauener (52), is accused of having passed on confidential information to Marc Walder (57), the head of Ringier Verlag, which also publishes Blick, for months.
Great scope
It will not be finally decided until Tuesday whether the judiciary and the parliamentary supervision will also examine the affair. But it is foreseeable. “The topic is of such great importance that it must also be dealt with politically,” says the GPK.
It can be assumed that Alfred Heer’s (61) motion will also find a majority. The Zurich SVP National Council demanded that the GPK should evaluate the e-mail traffic between Berset’s head of communications and the Ringier CEO on its own. (dba)
