organ donation
Objection solution will come in 2025 at the earliest
The so-called opt-out solution for organ donation can be introduced at the earliest in the third year after the adoption of the new Transplantation Act by the electorate. The Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) confirmed a corresponding SRF report on Wednesday.

The reason for this is electronic identification, which is not yet very widespread in Switzerland, according to the BAG at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. However, this e-identification is necessary in order to be able to introduce the digital register planned by the BAG at all.
In addition, the implementation of the law still has to be regulated in the ordinance law. In May last year, around two-thirds of those who voted approved the new transplant law. In principle, everyone becomes an organ donor unless he or she expressly declined a donation during their lifetime.
