The protection of minors is to be strengthened for films and video games.
The goal was not even close to being achieved. The Pirate Party failed miserably with its submitted referendum against the new youth protection regulations in films and video games. The Federal Chancellery announced on Monday that the constitutional quorum of 50,000 signatures had been missed by more than half.
The Swiss electorate will therefore not be able to comment on the new youth protection regulations.
The Pirate Party had already assumed at the weekend that their referendum had not taken place after all. On Thursday, the party was confident of victory when submitting the signatures. This assessment was overly optimistic, she wrote, citing difficulties in counting. (SDA/dba)
