Sweden recommends a fifth corona vaccination in autumn for all people aged 65 and over and risk groups. “The pandemic is not over,” said Social Affairs Minister Lena Hallengren (48) in Stockholm on Tuesday. It is still important to get vaccinated.
All other adults can now get a fourth vaccination if they wish, it said. This could include people who are approaching 65 or living with someone who is at particular risk. People aged 65 and over had previously been offered a fourth vaccination.
For immunocompromised only
In Switzerland, we haven’t got that far yet. On Tuesday, the Federal Office of Public Health and the Vaccination Commission recommended the fourth vaccination exclusively for people with a particularly weakened immune system – and only on the advice of the treating doctor.
Further recommendations for a second booster – also with a view to freedom of travel in the summer and autumn holidays – are to follow soon. (sf/SDA)
