The country needs more blondes! Find the young SVP.
The debate about wokeness – meaning great vigilance for discrimination and grievances – is getting wilder and wilder. Which also has to do with the fact that the topic is so polarizing and therefore invites further escalations.
A current example is an offer from the young SVP: the young party pays everyone who now goes to the hairdresser and dyes their hair blond, the bill. At least that’s what President David Trachsel (28) promises. Simply send in the receipt and provide account details – the bleaching will be paid for by JSVP.
Trachsel discovered the fight against Wokeness
“Set a sign against the woke madness, dye your hair blond and the young SVP will pay you to visit the hairdresser,” he advertises on Twitter, illustrated with a good-looking young blonde.

Trachsel is never above a provocation – one could also say that he has a good sense for controversial topics. And the so-called “woke madness” has particularly impressed him. He recently called for Switzerland to kick out the World Economic Forum (WEF). Because it’s too woke. Even the support of the Federal Council candidates last December made Trachsel dependent on the “ending of the woke madness”.

Debate used from the US
The current demand for more blondes has a specific reason. The US recently had a debate about whether fake blonde also falls under cultural appropriation. The trigger was a Tiktok post by a young woman whose blonde hair showed the brunette roots. What users accused her of being colored. Which in turn prompted the young woman’s mother to emphasize that her daughter was “born blonde”. So far, so absurd.
The African-American sociology professor Tressie McMillan Cottom then claimed that if you dye your hair blonde, you acquire social status. “Blonde” is an ethnic characteristic, which actually means: white.
No topic too absurd
Therefore one could speak of a social status, which in this case emanates from the hair color – blond hair stands for reputation and power, which is why those who don’t have it strive for it and go blond.
Also that: So far, so absurd. However, for the young SVP and their president (blessed with blond hair themselves) not absurd enough to jump on the topic and capitalize on it.
Although it could rather destroy capital – if hundreds come forward, that would be quite expensive. The young party has probably noticed that themselves. She now only wants to pay the hairdresser’s bill for the first 20 people who have had their hair bleached. (sf)
