Reds in the 7th Klopp year in crisis
0:3 slap! Liverpool slides into the crisis
Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp lose 3-0 to Brighton and are still struggling this season. The situation on Anfield Road is coming to a head.

Brighton beat Liverpool 3-0.
Liverpool is in a creative crisis. Just eighth in the Premier League, seven points adrift of a Champions League place! Clearly not enough for the club, which was still in the Champions League final a year ago and who, under the direction of Jürgen Klopp, has always known to shine with spectacular football for the past seven years.
Since this year, however, this luster has faded. Liverpool acts erratically, reveals deficiencies on the defensive and is harmless offensively. In the case of coach Jürgen Klopp, there are unpleasant parallels: he is currently in his seventh year as Liverpool coach. Already as coach of Borussia Dortmund (2008 – 2015), the impulsive German struggled in his seventh year – and finally resigned as a trainer. And: Even before that in Mainz it was over after seven years (2001 – 2008).
“No more Klopp team”
Will England get that far too? The situation is not (yet) that bad, but you can’t really be satisfied in Liverpool. Club icon Jamie Carragher said on “Sky Sports”: “I don’t see the players sprinting anymore, but they still play with that high last line. It’s not a Klopp team anymore.”
Liverpool really don’t play like a team at the moment, as shown by Saturday afternoon’s game against Brighton: 3-0 defeat. A resounding slap in the face for Klopp and Co. Not only the result gives food for thought. Liverpool are clumsy in defense at all goals. The “high line” mentioned by Carragher is repeatedly overplayed by Brighton.
Freulers Nottingham advances in the table
After the bankruptcy, the German goes straight to the dressing room after a short high five. His facial expression speaks volumes: the corners of his mouth droop. Klopp at a loss after the game: “I’ve never seen a worse game from my team since I’ve been a coach.”
While Liverpool have some catching up to do, Remo Freuler and Premier League competitor Nottingham are doing better. (par)
