Actually, Alfa-Sauber has already installed a new strong man at the top of the team with the German Andreas Seidl (47). But after the departure of the previous team boss Fred Vasseur to Ferrari, it was clear that Seidl, as Sauber CEO, would not also be the operational boss at the race track.

Alessandro Alunni Bravi (48) is now taking on this task, as the Formula 1 racing team announced. It’s an internal solution. The Italian has been working in Hinwil since 2017, rose to become Managing Director of the Sauber Group in 2022 and will now also become team boss.

In modern German, his job title is now: “Managing Director of the Sauber Group and Alfa Romeo F1 Team Representative”. Alunni Bravi says: «I am aware of the work ahead of us. I approach the task with humility, but I know that I am part of a strong team that will do this job well.”

The lawyer worked in motorsport for decades before joining Sauber. Now he will be the new face of Alfa-Sauber on the race track, while Seidl, as CEO, concentrates on strategic work and preparing for Audi’s entry in 2026.

First public appointment for Alunni Bravi: The new C43 for the 2023 season will be presented on February 7th.
