Association brings goalie coach back from Davos

Goalie coach Thomas Bäumle is leaving the association for family reasons.
Instructor and goalie coach Thomas Bäumle (38) is leaving Swiss Ice Hockey for family reasons at the end of April, according to the association. With Peter Mettler, who is currently training the goalkeepers at HC Davos, his predecessor will also be his successor.
Ex-NLA goalie Bäumle (Davos, Ambri, Langnau, Kloten, ZSC) has worked for the association since 2016 and has also been looking after the national goalies since 2019. “Swiss Ice Hockey regrets Bäumle’s departure and thanks him for the work he has done,” said a press release.
The Berner’s successor, Peter Mettler (41), is returning from HCD because he wants to work in the lowlands again for family reasons. He had already held the same role at the association from May 2017 to May 2019 before moving to Davos with sports director Raeto Raffainer (now CEO at SCB) and trainer Christian Wohlwend (released from HCD two weeks ago).
