Roman Cervenka celebrated his 37th birthday on December 10th. That’s why it’s far from being old-fashioned. The top scorer of the SCRJ Lakers emphasized this at the beginning of the year.
On Tuesday, when Rosenstadt sent the SCL Tigers home with a 9-0 pack, the gifted striker, whose brother Marek (30) is a professional soccer player with Dukla Prague, scored his first hat-trick of the season. And also provided an assist.

And he achieved exactly the same result in Friday’s thrilling game in Davos. The only flaw: Rapperswil-Jona lost after a 4:2 lead (4:5 nP) and Cervenka failed in the penalty shootout. And not once. Also not twice. But three times. Unusually for him, the magician is considered a penalty specialist and had previously sunk all three of his shots in penalty shootouts this season.

SCB-Raymond scored the last double hat-trick
“We’re definitely disappointed. We came close to getting three points and now we only have one. But it is how it is. It goes on, »said Cervenka in an interview with MySports. After a month’s break due to a back injury, the Rappi star only made his comeback before Christmas. When asked if he expected to come back so strong from his injury, the Czech said: «No, no, I didn’t expect that. But I don’t look at myself. What counts is team success. I’m trying to help my team.”
The last time SCB striker Mason Raymond had scored in two games in a row. In November 2017, the Canadian scored two hat-tricks against Friborg and Lausanne within two days. But he didn’t give any assists.
By the way, Cervenka wasn’t the only one who could celebrate a hat-trick on Friday. Biel’s Jesper Olofsson (5:4 aet against Kloten) and his Swedish compatriot near Fribourg, Jacob de la Rose (6:1 against Ambri), also managed this feat. So there were already seven hat-tricks in the young year, after Lino Martschini and Jan Kovar from Zug and SCB defender Ramon Untersander had already scored three times.
In the NL scorer list, led by Valtteri Filppula (Servette, 39 points), Cervenka moved up to fourth place with 10 goals and 26 assists. It’s already going on for him today. Does he even manage the hat-trick hat-trick in the Lake Zurich derby against his ex-club ZSC?
