Philipp Kuraschew acrobatically asserted himself on the puck in the game against Philadelphia.
The small high of the Chicago Blackhawks and Philipp Kuraschew (23) continues. With the Swiss as the goalscorer, the second-worst team this NHL season on points wins 4-1 in Philadelphia.
In the final minute, Kurashev hits the empty goal. It is the seventh goal of the season for the Swiss striker. Two days earlier, he had one goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Buffalo Sabers. Kurashev had only scored two goals in two consecutive games once in his NHL career. His overall record is 21 goals and 35 assists in 164 games.
For Chicago it is the fifth win in the last six games. Despite the recent upward trend, the considerable gap to a playoff spot (21 points) can hardly be made up for by the bottom of the Western Conference.
Hischier saves Devils into overtime
From a Swiss point of view, Nico Hischier (24) and Jonas Siegenthaler (25) have the best starting position with regard to participating in the playoffs. After the last five wins in a row, the Swiss duo with the New Jersey Devils had to admit defeat again.
In the away game against the Seattle Kraken, Captain Hischier saves his team with the 21st goal of the season 74 seconds before the end of regular time into extra time, where Swede Andre Burakovsky scores the winning goal after 1:10 minutes to make it 4:3 for Seattle.
Many Swiss lose
It’s an evening to forget for Kevin Fiala (26) and his Los Angeles Kings. For the fifth in the Western Conference, it is a 0:4 defeat at the new leader Dallas Stars. And also for the two Swiss with the Nashville Predators, Roman Josi (32) and Nino Niederreiter (30) there is nothing to get on Friday – 2: 5 bankruptcy in St. Louis.
