Big accusation: Ex-Barcelona defender Dani Alves (39) is said to have sexually harassed a woman in a nightclub. Barcelona police are now investigating.
Dani Alves played for FC Barcelona for more than eight years. Now he is making negative headlines in the city of his old club.
As reported by Spanish media, Dani Alves (39) is said to have been involved in a police incident in Barcelona on Saturday night.
Accordingly, the former Barça player, who now plays for Pumas UNAM in Mexico, traveled to Barcelona for the New Year’s weekend and partyed in a nightclub there. When it came to finding out who had grabbed a woman’s underwear against her will, the woman is said to have pointed to Dani Alves, according to the Spanish medium “ABC”. The woman then informed her friends first and then the police.
Alves maintains his innocence
“The Catalan police then drove to the venue – but by the time the victim spoke about the incident, the alleged perpetrator had already left the nightclub,” ABC continued.
When asked by the newspaper, the Brazilian firmly denied the allegations. Although he was in said nightclub, but had done nothing of the sort.
It is possible that Dani Alves has to make an official statement about the incident in addition to the unofficial one. The Catalan police are said to have launched an investigation in the meantime.
