At the World Cup in Qatar, young American striker Giovanni Reyna was ostracized by national coach Greg Berhalter. When the Bundesliga restarted, he scored two late winning goals for Dortmund.
Reyna scored in the 78th minute of last Sunday’s 4-3 win at home against Augsburg, and in Wednesday’s 2-1 win in Mainz after 93 minutes, one minute before the final whistle. In both games he was substituted on after more than an hour.
The 1:0 by Lee and the 1:1 came within the first four minutes. Dortmund’s equalizer was scored by Norwegian full-back Julian Ryerson, who was recently signed by Union Berlin.
All three Swiss contested the whole match: Gregor Kobel in the Dortmund goal, Silvan Widmer and Edimilson Fernandes on the right side at Mainz. BVB are still five points behind Bayern, who only played 1-1 against Cologne on Tuesday. (SDA)
