Julie Zogg is in enviable form.
Zogg was challenged the most in the semifinals against Kummer, which she decided in her favor by a margin of one tenth. The final against the Austrian Daniela Ulbing was then a clear affair. 30-year-old Zogg won her twelfth time in the World Cup, eleventh time in parallel slalom, and made it into the top three for the 31st time at this level.
For the 35-year-old Kummer, who clearly prevailed against the Japanese Tsubaki Miki in the “small final”, it was the first podium finish in the World Cup since her victory in the same discipline on March 23, 2019 in Winterberg and the 23rd overall.
The Swiss men fared less well. Dario Caviezel, who triumphed on Saturday, was eliminated in the round of 16 by eventual winner Maurizio Bormolini of Italy. The 27-year-old from Graubünden was the only Swiss to reach the knockout rounds. (SDA/sme)
