It’s the final minute of the middle third between Davos and Bern. Magnus Nygren wants to open the game on the blue line. But the HCD defender jammed his right skate while moving backwards and twisted his ankle. The Swede stays on his knees on the ice, you can tell he’s in pain. Nygren has to be guided off the ice after this horrible scene.
After the game, HCD sports director Jan Alston fears the worst on “MySports”: “I was in the dressing room for a moment, it didn’t look good.” Now the certainty: Nygren suffered a broken tibia and fibula in the unfortunate action.
Nygren already operated
The 32-year-old was already operated on Monday morning. This injury means the end of the season for the Swede, who leaves HCD after the season and returns to his homeland.
