Thabo Sefolosha is back! The Swiss NBA pioneer announces his retirement and returns to the floor for his heart club Vevey-Riviera, the club announced on Thursday.
In 2006, Sefolosha was the first Swiss drafted in the NBA and played successfully for five teams in the best basketball league in the world until his retirement in 2020.
Vevey is currently in second place in the NLA, four points behind leader Massagno. Sefolosha is expected to make his debut on Sunday in the Final Four tournament of the Swiss Basketball League Cup against Union Neuchâtel Basket in Montreux.
It will be the former NBA star’s first professional game in over two years. (bjl)
