Modeste M’Bami dies at the age of 40 as a result of a heart attack.
Sad news reached football Europe from Africa on Saturday evening: Former footballer Modeste M’Bami († 40) died as a result of a heart attack. M’Bami’s former club Paris St. Germain announced this on Twitter.
“It is with deep sadness that we learned of the death of our former player. The club expresses its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones, »writes the reigning French champions on the social media platform.

M’Bami was active in France alongside PSG for Olympique Marseille. He played 228 games in Ligue 1. He then played in Spain and China before retiring in 2016. In 2003 he was briefly a teammate of former Swiss national team star Hakan Yakin (45) at Paris.
For the Cameroonian national team he has 38 appearances and 3 goals. His former national team colleague and current Cameroonian association president Samuel Eto’o (41) puts a picture of M’Bami on Instagram and writes: “You left too soon.” (bjl)
