Jacqueline Dünker is the new trainer at FCZ.
The FCZ Frauen found what they were looking for in their search for a successor to the Inka Grings who had migrated to the national team. “FC Zurich is pleased to announce that Jacqueline Dünker will take on a dual role as head coach and head of sport at FCZ Frauen,” the club said in a statement.
The 36-year-old German has signed a permanent contract with the city of Zurich. “With Jacqueline Dünker we were able to hire an experienced and ambitious trainer,” FCZ President Ancillo Canepa is quoted as saying in the media release. Dünker will carry out the task as head of sports together with the sports commission FCZ Frauen.
“Positively impressed”
“I would like to thank you for the trust you have placed in me and am really looking forward to the new challenge. After the first contact, I was positively impressed by the club and the conditions and I can hardly wait to develop the FCZ Frauen together with the coaching team,” says Dünker.
The former midfielder was under contract with several Bundesliga clubs during her career. She ended her career in 2015. Shortly thereafter she began her career as a trainer. From 2017 to summer 2019 she was head coach of the women’s team at SC 13 Bad Neuenahr in the Regionalliga Südwest. She then moved to the women’s Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where she worked as an assistant coach until she switched to FC Zurich. On the other hand, Dünker is still inexperienced as head of sports. (cef)
