Ladina Jenny triumphs for the first time solo in the snowboard world cup. In mid-December, the 29-year-old Schwyzern won the non-Olympic mixed parallel slalom together with Gian Casanova in Winterberg.

Thanks to her strong performance in qualifying, the three-time Olympic participant chose the slightly faster blue course in all four knockout rounds. In the final, the Italian Lucia Dalmasso took too great a risk and was eliminated.

After two third places this winter and 110 unsuccessful attempts before that, Jenny finally made it onto the top step of the podium. The time for the first victory is not unfavorable, because the dominator Ester Ledecka from the Czech Republic has not competed in a race this season because of a collarbone injury.

Julie Zogg, who won twice in Bansko, Bulgaria last weekend, failed in the round of 16, as did Patrizia Kummer and Jessica Keiser. The men’s knockout rounds took place without Swiss participation. (SDA/mab)
