Fischer dispenses with newcomers and brings NHL know-how

Switzerland will face hosts Finland, Sweden and the Czech Republic at the Karjala Cup next week. The national coach decided on a team with international experience.

National coach Patrick Fischer has announced the first squad of the season.

In contrast to the November mergers of other years, where the focus was primarily on younger players, national team coach Patrick Fischer has nominated a squad with a lot of international experience for the Karjala Cup in Turku next week and has dispensed with national team newcomers.

Once again in the national team: Zug’s champion goalie Leonardo Genoni.

The national team meets in Kloten on Monday, November 7th and completes a final training session in Switzerland in the afternoon before flying to Helsinki on Tuesday and from there on to the tournament venue in Turku.
