Nati goalie Jonas Omlin is moving to Gladbach in the Bundesliga.
Everyone involved is probably happy now. After Yann Sommers (34) departure to Bayern, Jonas Omlin (29) is now set to move to Gladbach. The former FCL and FCB goalie comes from Montpellier and succeeds Sommer in the foals. He signs until 2027.
It’s good business for Gladbach: They got a lot of money for Sommer (whose contract would have expired in the summer) and closed the construction site in the gate with the highly reliable Omlin for several years.
Gladbach plays the first game of the second half of the season against Leverkusen on Sunday. Probably with the newcomer in goal.
Omlin once launched his career at FC Luzern. As a 23-year-old, he was chosen by coach Markus Babbel to be Lucerne’s main goalie in 2017. A year later he switched to FC Basel. Then in 2020 the step abroad to Montpellier. Omlin has been in the box four times for Switzerland. (mum)
