Thomas Dressen is looking forward to a happy event.
Thomas Dressen (29) has been through a lot in recent years. The German speed specialist was slowed down by one injury after another. Cruciate ligament rupture, hip injury, muscle injury – all of this has stalled Dressen’s rise.
So far this season, things have not gone according to plan either. In eight races he finished in the top 10 once and missed out on the points three times. Most recently, he was 13th in the first Kitzbühel descent, and dropped out in the second. In the TV show Blickpunkt Sport, Dressen describes his situation on Sunday evening as “extremely difficult. But I want to be up front again, that’s my goal.”
“The best news”
After all, there is a private highlight that is coming up this year. As he reveals at the end of his television appearance, Dressen will soon be a father for the first time. “The best news is: My wife and I are expecting children. In the summer it’s time. That’s actually one of the best things that I’m really looking forward to.”
Dressen has been married to his wife Birgit since 2021. “Life is better with your best friend, that’s why I married mine,” he wrote for a wedding photo at the time.
Feuz’ Kitzbühel fright
Now the couple becomes a family. And who knows, maybe dressing up will inspire you to fly to new heights. He celebrated his greatest success to date in Kitzbühel in 2018. With start number 19 he drove to victory on the Streif – his first of five so far in the World Cup.
With this coup he prevented another premiere. Because he snatched victory from Beat Feuz (35), who has since retired, by two tenths of a second. Only three years later could the Swiss also be happy about the golden chamois. (bir)
