Juha Metsola stays with EHC Kloten.
The whole of hockey Switzerland is amazed at the achievements of league newcomer Kloten. The Zürcher Unterländer are currently in 8th place – ahead of Master Zug. One of the master builders of this success is their goalie Juha Metsola. After a somewhat cautious start to the season, the 33-year-old Finn got better and better and is now one of the top goalies in the league, with Kloten saving a few points.
Now it’s clear: Kloten can count on Metsola’s services next season as well. The promoted team managed to extend the contract with the experienced goalkeeper. This news, which is good news for them, will be communicated soon.
Rumor has it that Deniss Smirnovs (23) from Servette could also land in Kloten next season. The people of Zurich are said to be very interested in the Latvian international with a Swiss license. Will it be Zurich’s next clever move? (times/gb)
