Set a fabulous world record over 400 m hurdles at the home World Championships in Eugene: the American Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.
McLaughlin-Levrone ran over 400 m hurdles to gold in 50.68 seconds, smashed his own world record by 73 hundredths and thus advanced to a dimension previously thought impossible.
Pole vault world champion Duplantis also set a world record of 6.21 m in the title fights in the USA. The 23-year-old, like McLaughlin-Levrone Olympic champion in Tokyo, had a record-breaking season in 2022 with 18 wins from 19 starts. He only had to admit defeat at the Diamond League meeting in Brussels. (SDA)
