Erling Haaland scores his fourth hat-trick of the season against Wolves.
Erling Haaland remains the man of superlatives. The Norwegian scored his fourth hat-trick of the season in a 3-0 home win against Wolverhampton, breaking the record for the fewest games needed for that number of hat-tricks.
He needed just 19 games for it, the previous record holder Ruud van Nistelrooy needed 65 appearances for the same mark.
14 minutes of play for three goals
The Haaland show begins shortly before the break: he can nod off to make it 1-0 in the 40th minute. After the change of sides, it was 2-0 with a penalty kick in the 50th minute before he scored the third goal just four pointer turns later.
Haaland now has 25 goals this season and has already scored more goals than the Premier League top scorer in the past four seasons, who have struck 23 and 22 times in the entire season.
In central defence, Nati defender Manuel Akanji is on the pitch for the full 90 minutes. Thanks to the win, the “Skyblues” reduced their gap to leaders Arsenal to two points and put the Gunners under pressure before their top battle against Manchester United. (bjl)
