Lena Häcki-Gross is the only Swiss woman to finish in the top 20 at the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding.
Lena Häcki-Gross was 17th at the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding. Amy Baserga, who finished third in the single mixed relay last Sunday in Pokljuka together with Niklas Hartweg, made it onto the World Cup podium for the first time, seven places behind her . Both made two shooting errors, which were equivalent to two penalty minutes.
Elisa and Aita Gasparin, who finished 60th and 84th after five and seven shooting errors, respectively, weren’t up to speed at all. Lea Meier finished 68th. The results of the Swiss-Ski quintet are a disappointment after four Swiss women made it into the top 20 in the Pokljuka sprint a week earlier.
Italy’s Lisa Vittazzi celebrated her first World Cup victory in an individual race since January 2019 and her third overall. The 27-year-old won ahead of French Lou Jeanmonnot and Julia Simon. The latter extended their lead in the overall standings with their fifth podium finish in a row. (SDA/mab)
