New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier celebrates scoring.
The Swiss NHL crack Nico Hischier shines once again in the dress of his New Jersey Devils. In the game against the Detroit Red Wings, he contributed an assist in the 29th minute. A little later, the 24-year-old Swiss scored the 2-0 himself. With a majority, he deflected Dougie Hamilton’s shot decisively. After 37 games this season, the center and captain of the Devils has 36 points (17 goals, 19 assists).
The game with a total of three Swiss players was attended by national coach Patrick Fischer. He saw Hischier’s teammate Jonas Siegenthaler clock up over 20 minutes of ice time and a plus-3 record. Detroit striker Pius Suter had a difficult time, scoring a shot on target in just over 14 minutes of ice time. (SDA)
