Hischier trumps Meier in the Swiss duel
Nico Hischier and the New Jersey Devils continue their winning streak, and the Sharks with Timo Meier are also struggling with the league third place.

Nico Hischier celebrates his fifth straight win with the New Jersey Devils.
The New Jersey Devils with Captain Nico Hischier and defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler extend the winning streak to five successes. Against the San Jose Sharks with Timo Meier, however, the victory only succeeds in the penalty shootout.
In the 4:3 after a penalty shoot-out, both Hischier and Meier came up trumps with a goal and an assist each. The Valais and the Appenzeller are involved in the first four goals of the game. After just 29 seconds, the favored guests successfully completed their first attack with Hischier as the passer.
Towards the end of the first period, Meier showed a lot of feeling when he converted a nice pass from a tight angle to score his 25th goal of the season. A little later he managed the 20th assist in the power play. Hischier scored the 20th goal of the current championship when equalizing to 2:2 – only eleven seconds after the start of the final third.
Suter wins, Josi scores
With 45 scorer points (Meier) and their 43 (Hischier), the two are getting closer to Kevin Fiala, who has 47 points.
Because of Denis Malgin’s injury, there was no second Swiss duel. Colorado Avalanche wins against the Detroit Red Wings with Pius Suter 6:3.
The Nashville Predators with Roman Josi and Nino Niederreiter celebrate a 2-1 home win against the Calgary Flames as underdogs. Josi hammered the puck from the blue line into the net to take a 1-0 lead and completed the dozen with his 12th goal of the season. Tim Berni remains without a goal in the Columbus Blue Jackets loss.
