Hard verdict for Juventus Turin.
On Friday there is a hammer for Juventus Turin. The club have been fined 15 points in Serie A by the Italian federation sport court for accounting fraud involving player transfers.
At first, the Turin team had been acquitted along with ten other clubs, but now the public prosecutor’s office was successful with their appeal.
The verdict has devastating consequences for Juventus. The point deduction means the drop from 3rd place to 10th place in the table.
Judgment reasons are awaited
In a statement on the website, the club has now announced that it will appeal. We are waiting for the reasons to be published before appealing the verdict to the Supreme Sports Court of the Italian Olympic Committee.
However, this can neither cancel the penalty nor reduce the point deduction. However, if procedural errors are found, the case can be returned to the association sports court. And would then be renegotiated. (bir)
