Concern for Aleksander Kilde: The Norwegian has to go to the hospital after the second downhill training session on the Streif.
Shock in the Norwegian ski team. In the second training session, Aleksander Kilde hit the ice with his hand on the steep slope and apparently injured himself. According to Blick information, the leader of the downhill classification had to go to the hospital. A start at the classic in Kitzbühel is uncertain.
“I have to have an X-ray,” Kilde is said to have said, according to Norwegian media. He has severe hand and wrist pain. However, the 30-year-old expressed confidence to the TV broadcaster NRK that he would start on Friday.
It would be a bitter loss for the ski festival in Tyrol. Kilde won four of the six downhills so far, most recently in Wengen last week. Only in the first of two Gröden descents (5th) and in Bormio (3rd) was the Norwegian not on top.
Hintermann convinced
Beat Feuz (35) takes it easy on the last downhill training session of his career and doesn’t take any unnecessary risks. The Schangnau native is classified outside of the top 30. In his last two appearances on the Streif on Friday and Saturday, however, one can confidently assume that Kugelblitz will once again fight for the podium.

The best Swiss in the second practice session is Feuz’ teammate Niels Hintermann. The man from Zurich leaves nothing to chance and blasts off at high speed on the famous “U-Hakerl”. «In the last few years, I’ve repeatedly had trouble getting the ski to pull, especially in the upper part. I managed to do that today,” he says to Blick. In the end, four hundredths are missing on the French Sarrazin. The conclusion of the 27-year-old: “A good, committed trip.”
Hausberg passage defused again
Marco Odermatt (rank 11) accelerates a little more, losing almost half a second behind the man behind him in the second sector around the “U-Hakerl” – best segment time. “There wasn’t much reserve left. I drove pretty much in attack mode from the top until the last split time,” analyzes the 25-year-old from Nidwaldner. Only at the finish would there still be a few tenths.
The passage to the Hausberg Kante, which the ski cracks criticized as practically unanimous on Tuesday, hardly poses any problems on Thursday. The organizers have softened the route a bit before and after the edge, which is why almost no athletes miss the first gate of the following traverse. “It’s a little more twisting, they were able to slow down a bit,” says Hintermann. Odermatt agrees, but adds: “And yet you still have some space to drive it on train.”
Stefan Rogentin (28) is one of the few who have to miss a goal in the traverse. However, he does not drive on the last groove, he would probably have caught the gate in the race. (che)
