The usual picture at the Tour de Ski: Johannes Hösflot Klaebo cheers when crossing the finish line.
Johannes Hösflot Klaebo cannot be defeated in the 4th stage of the Tour de Ski either. The Norwegian prevails in the pursuit of 20 km skating in Oberstdorf.
With 15 victories in this stage race, Klaebo is now the sole record holder. Previously, he had led this statistic together with the Polish Justyna Kowalczyk and compatriot Therese Johaug.
Swiss with peloton at the finish
The pursuit quickly turns into a mass start race as Klaebo and Simen Hegstad Krüger don’t push the pace and the peloton ends with nearly 30 runners. For this reason, Klaebo loses a large part of his lead in the Tour ranking. He leads just 12 seconds ahead of Italy’s Federico Pellegrino and their 14 ahead of Norway’s Paal Golberg.
The Swiss are also catching up with the peloton in the pursuit and are three in the top 30 with Candide Pralong (22nd), Beda Klee (23rd) and Cyril Fähndrich (28th). Pralong is 24th in the overall classification 2:13 minutes behind the best Swiss.
The next stage on Friday is a sprint in Val di Fiemme. (SDA)
