The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Buffalo Sabers 4-3 in overtime. Philipp Kuraschev is involved in all goals in regular time.
The 23-year-old Swiss gave the perfectly timed assist for the first goal of the game. However, the guests reacted strongly and the Blackhawks had to start the last third two goals behind. In this Kuraschev shines together with the American defender Seth Jones. First Kuraschev makes the connection by deflecting Jones’ shot decisively – his sixth goal of the season. Equalizing with 56 seconds to go, he launches Jones, who scores from the blue line.

Jones finally scored the decisive goal in the 63rd minute. The Blackhawks have won four of their last five games, but remain bottom of the Western Conference table.
Swiss duels
Pius Suter also scored a goal. In the duel against the Arizona Coyotes with Janis Moser, the 26-year-old from Zurich is responsible for the 2-1 lead. The game finally ends 3:3 and goes into a penalty shootout, which the Coyotes decide in their favour. This is their first win after nine consecutive defeats.
There was also a Swiss duel in Nashville. Roman Josi and Nino Niederreiter just got the better of their Predators 2:1 against Tim Bernis Columbus Blue Jackets. Captain Josi can be credited with an assist for the second goal. (SDA/bjl)
