Since the final qualification in Wimbledon last summer, Kyrgios has been one of the contenders for a Grand Slam title – especially since he finally seems to believe that he can win major tournaments.
Kyrgios has already given up all appearances before the Australian Open because of knee problems. He still came to Melbourne in good spirits. Recently, however, the knee problems have become more acute with every training session. Kyrgios returns to his home base in Canberra where he will undergo arthroscopic surgery. (SDA)
