Blaise Matuidi retires from football.
«Football, I loved you so much. Football you gave me so much but now it’s time to say stop. When I look back on this long journey, I have stars in my eyes.”
With these words Blaise Matuidi announces his retirement from professional business via Instagram one day before Christmas Eve. His contract with Inter Miami CF expires at the end of this year.
The midfielder celebrated a total of eight championship titles with Paris Saint-Germain (5) and Juventus Turin (3). In 2020 he moved to Inter Miami in Major League Soccer, but he did not play for co-owner David Beckham’s club that year.
He took part in four major tournaments for France (2012, 2014, 2016, 2018), the really big coup came in 2018 in Russia when he won the world championship title. In his 84 appearances for “Les Bleus” he has scored nine goals. (SDA/yap)
