About a month and a half ago, Argentina became world champions.
For the first time since the drama final against France, Lionel Messi gives an interview on the Argentine program “Perros de la Calle” and looks back on the World Cup in Qatar.
The seven-time world footballer particularly regrets his behavior after the dramatic penalty move into the semi-finals. “I don’t like what I did. There are moments of tension, of nervousness. It all happened very quickly, you don’t have time to think about anything.”
Messi attacked Weghorst
As a reminder: Messi attacks Holland’s double goal scorer Wout Weghorst (30) in the catacombs: “What are you looking at, you idiot? Go away, you idiot!” Actually, he didn’t want to give such a picture. Is that an apology to the Dutch?

Messi also admits that he has never seen the whole final: “I’ve seen the highlights, I’ve seen how many people celebrated when we became world champions. But I didn’t see the 90 minutes of the final itself.”
Severe sunstroke after party
keyword celebration. After the long-awaited world championship title, there were days of euphoric celebrations all over Argentina, the World Cup heroes followed suit and made a parade in Buenos Aires by bus – with five million people. “It was crazy up there, it was crazy because we could see people’s joy, people of all ages. The luck they had was unbelievable, you could see it on their faces.”

However, the attacking star who was named Player of the Tournament did not escape unscathed from the celebration. “When I got home, I was red, I felt shit, I slept badly. I had sunstroke and a headache.” Messi spent the next two days in bed with a fever. “I was completely burned out.”
With a world championship title in your pocket, an illness is probably easier to cope with. (mou)
