Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka
Mixed relay botches podium on final
After the Baserga/Hartweg duo, the mixed relay also performed well in Pokljuka, but was unable to keep up the initial momentum: the mixed relay finished fourth
Despite a strong start, Aita Gasparin and Co. do not make it onto the podium.
For a long time it looked as if the Swiss would be able to promptly follow suit in Pokljuka – but in the end it wasn’t enough for the podium. Immediately after the third place of Amy Baserga and Niklas Hartweg in the single mixed relay, the damper follows. The mixed relay, consisting of Sebastian Stalder, Jeremy Finello, Aita Gasparin and Lena Häcki-Gross, can no longer keep up in the final part.
Häcki-Gross is able to avoid a penalty loop at the shooting range, but loses too much time – in the end it’s fourth place. Behind the teams from France, Italy and Sweden. (mpe)
