NFL defenseman Damar Hamlin was allowed to leave the hospital.
Nine days after his cardiac arrest, football pro Damar Hamlin was able to leave the hospital to continue his rehabilitation at home. The 24-year-old Buffalo Bills defenseman collapsed after a routine tackle on the field during the NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this week and required CPR after the collapse.
On Monday, Hamlin was transferred from Cincinnati to Buffalo General Medical Center, where he underwent a series of tests and physicals the following day. Despite the health incident, he is aiming for a return to the pitch.
On Sunday, his team played for the first time since the accident, with the players playing with a small three, Hamlin’s shirt number, on their chests. Various campaigns for Hamlin were launched around the game. He is also said to have spoken to his teammates via video call before the game.
His Bills will start the hot phase next Sunday: Then they will meet the Miami Dolphins in the first playoff round. (SDA/bjl)
