Omeragic can be a regular player at FCZ again

FCZ President Ancillo Canepa once dreamed that Becir Omeragic (21) could bring in a double-digit million sum. But the defensive jewel will leave Zurich free of charge at the end of the season. A situation that pretty much goes against the grain of Canepa. “I don’t have any players coming back who have left us for free,” he once said.
In the fall, there was even a rumor that Omeragic, who had fallen out of all the agenda, was banned from playing because he didn’t want to sign a new contract. The FCZ always vehemently denied this and referred to his epidemic months with injuries, illnesses and injuries.
Last Saturday in Lucerne, the rumor was definitely history: Omeragic, on his 21st birthday, was back in the starting XI of a league game for the first time since September 3rd.

In the meantime, the probability that the Geneva player will play more FCZ games is also increasing. According to Canepa, there are requests for a winter transfer, “but there are certain expectations from our side.”
In other words: Zurich hopes that some money will still come into the till. Dinamo Zagreb was very interested in the Geneva player with Croatian roots, but according to Blick information, the change is no longer an issue. Last summer, when Omeragic was out after his meniscus surgery, Sampdoria and Reims were interested. In the case of a transfer within the Super League, Basel would be in pole position.
