Killian Peier cannot qualify for the competition in Titisee-Neustadt. The 27-year-old finished 55th in his first serious fight after an inflamed patellar tendon.
Killian Peier had missed the season opener due to an inflammation of the patellar tendon. At the first serious fight in Titisee-Neustadt, the man from Vaud could not hide the lack of training. With 119 m, the 27-year-old only took 55th place among 64 participants. 50 jumpers take part in the competition.
Just a year ago, the 2019 World Cup third presented himself very differently. In the nine events leading up to the Four Hills Tournament, he jumped into the top 10 five times. However, over the course of the season he lost ground and did not make it far at the Olympic Games in Beijing either.
The Swiss ski jumpers have currently missed the connection to the international level. After four competitions they are still without a single World Cup point. On Friday in Titisee-Neustadt near the Swiss border only Gregor Deschwanden can try to remedy this shortcoming. Because Dominik Peter also has to watch the qualification as 51st. (SDA)
